He knows which relationships matter, which processes can be shortened, and which rules are load-bearing versus decorative.
His power is demonstrated rather than claimed. The most defensible authority is delivered results, because they are not relational and cannot be argued with. He can always prove it.

Execution without direction. The Operator's shadow is the man who has become so identified with delivering results that he has stopped asking whether the results are worth delivering. The Operator who has examined his shadow uses his execution capacity in service of his own chosen direction. He invests leverage rather than spending it. He builds relationships that compound rather than burning through people for the immediate result. He owns a vision, not just a mechanism. The man who can both deliver and direct is the most complete version of this archetype.
